Questions,
answered.

What is stamped concrete, and does it really look like stone?
Stamped concrete is a finish worked into the slab while it is still wet: a base color, a release, and texture mats pressed in by hand to mimic flagstone, slate, cobblestone or wood. Done properly, from a few feet away most people cannot tell it from the real stone, and it costs a fraction of what natural stone would, in one continuous surface with no joints for weeds.
Why does concrete crack, and can you stop it?
All concrete moves and will crack somewhere; the craft is deciding where. We set a compacted base so the ground does not shift, and cut control joints so the slab relieves stress along a clean planned line instead of a random one. In Macomb County the freeze and thaw makes the base and the joints even more important.
What do you pour besides patios?
Stamped and broom patios are our specialty, but we also pour driveways, sidewalks and walkways, commercial flatwork, foundations, flooring and stairs, shed and RV and hot tub pads, plus decorative and acid stained finishes. We also break out and replace failed concrete and rebuild the base under it.
